Our holistic approach to treatment recognizes that recreation is an important aspect of recovery for those we serve. This is especially true for individuals with a history of isolating themselves, who suffer with social phobias, have never developed a healthy approach to these areas or are also in recovery from their alcohol or other drug dependence. Leisure and recreational activities involve individuals in the community, ensuring that they are engaged, active community participants. Community outings always provide opportunities for social and other skill-building development. Routine outings consist of linkage and engagement with community providers, structured activities and community events. Clinical staff members also work with individuals to help them identify community activities and events of interest. Everything from bowling as a group to attending a concert with a friend, to attending a church function is encouraged.
